The electronic visa is a digital record that replaces the traditional stamp or sticker. It is linked to the traveller’s passport number. While the process is digital, the legal weight of the document is the same as a traditional visa. Information about the aims of this programme can be found on our information page.
The e-Visa is intended for those visiting Namibia for non-work purposes. This includes holidays, visiting friends, or attending short-term cultural events. Chilean citizens should be aware that the stay duration is determined by the immigration authorities and is usually sufficient for a comprehensive tour of the country.
| Type of Travel | Typical Stay Limit | Extension Possibility |
|---|---|---|
| Tourism | Up to 90 days | Subject to local approval |
| Business Visit | Short-term meetings | Generally restricted |
The primary requirement is a Chilean passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of arrival. Additionally, a clear, digital colour photograph is required. This photo must show the applicant's full face and should have been taken recently to reflect their current appearance accurately.
A service fee and a government processing fee are collected at the time of application. These payments are processed through a secure gateway. It is important to note that processing times are not guaranteed and can fluctuate based on seasonal demand or the complexity of individual cases.
Before submitting the final request, Chilean applicants must perform a thorough review of all entered data. The name must be written exactly as it appears in the machine-readable zone of the passport. Even small errors in the passport number or date of birth can invalidate the visa, leading to complications at the airport.
Each traveller, including minors, must have their own individual e-Visa application and separate passport.
You can monitor the status using the reference number. It is not advised to book non-refundable flights until the authorisation is confirmed.
