Namibia Visa Requirements: Complete Document Checklist for All Visa Types

A successful Namibia visa application depends on accurate and complete documentation specific to the selected visa category, as incomplete or incorrect documents may cause delays or rejection. All documents must be in English or accompanied by a certified English translation.

Requirement Common to All Visa Types

The following document must be submitted by all applicants, irrespective of the visa type selected.

Passport

• Submit a coloured, scanned copy of the passport bio-data page.
• The scan must be clear, high-quality, with all details and the MRZ fully visible.
• Photographs of the passport page will not be accepted.

Passport Size Photograph

• A recent colour photograph with a plain white background and high resolution.
• Face must be clearly visible and occupy approximately 80% of the frame.
• Photos that have been edited or filtered will not be accepted.

Visa-Specific Document Requirements

Applicants are required to submit only the documents required for their selected visa type.

Visa-on-Arrival

Visa-on-Arrival applicants are required to submit only the core documents common to all visa types, i.e., a passport and a passport-size photograph. No additional supporting documents are required at the application stage. If required, our support team will contact you.

Holiday Visa

Holiday visa applicants must submit:

Motivation Letter

• A motivation letter written and signed by the applicant or issued by the travel agency.
• It must clearly state the travel purpose.

Confirmed Travel Arrangements

One of the following documents is required:

Option 1: For Air Travel

Submit proof of a confirmed flight ticket indicating:

• Confirmed arrival in Namibia
• Confirmed departure from Namibia
• Traveller’s full name exactly as shown on the passport

Option 2: For Non-Air Travel

Applicants not travelling by air must submit a signed declaration confirming the following details:

• Duration of stay and intended next destination
• Mode of entry and exit
• Traveller’s full name and passport details

Accommodation Proof

One of the following documents is required:

Option 1: Confirmed Hotel Booking

Submit proof of accommodation, such as a confirmed hotel booking.

Option 2: An Invitation Letter

If staying with a host in Namibia, an invitation letter is required.

Will any additional documents be required apart from the invitation letter?
A deed of surety signed by the inviter, the last six (6) month bank statement, and proof of current legal status in Namibia will be required.

Travel Insurance

• A valid travel and medical insurance policy applicable in Namibia must be provided.
• The policy must remain active throughout the visit.

Fund Proof

• Submit bank statements for the last 6 months.
• Funds must be sufficient to cover travel, accommodation, and living expenses.

Short-Term Work Visa

Short-term work visa applicants must submit:

• Submit a clear scanned copy of your highest qualification certificate.
• The certificate must be issued by a recognised educational institution.
• All information must be accurate, complete, and easily readable.

Curriculum Vitae / Resume

• Submit a current and professionally formatted CV or resume.
• It should clearly outline relevant work experience, skills, and qualifications.
• All information provided in the CV or resume must be truthful and complete.

Motivational Letter from Employer

• Submit a motivational letter issued by the Namibia employer.
• The letter must explain the purpose of the work.
• It must clearly state why Namibian nationals cannot be employed in the role.

Additional Documents for Namibia Short-Term Work Visa (If Staying More Than 3 Months)

The following additional documents apply only to Namibia Short-Term Work Visa applicants who will be staying for more than 3 months.

Document Scanning & Submission Tips

Please follow the guidelines below:

1. Applicants are advised to submit 2-3 digital scans of the required document to our email support team. This allows our review team to select the most suitable version, enabling faster, more accurate verification.
2. All pages must be fully visible, including edges, stamps, signatures, and reference numbers.
3. Avoid flash glare, shadows, or angled photos. Documents placed flat under natural light are easier to verify.
4. Do not enhance, crop excessively, or apply filters, as altered documents may be rejected during review.
5. Ensure all documents are valid at the time of application, entry into Namibia, and throughout the authorised stay.

Required Documents for Border Entry

eVisa holders are required to present the following documents at the border upon arrival:

• Approved eVisa confirmation.
• Valid passport.
• Proof of return or onward travel.
• Proof of accommodation.
• Confirmation of sufficient funds on arrival, if requested by Immigration authorities.
• A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, when arriving from or transiting through a Yellow Fever endemic country.
• Full birth certificate for children, if travelling with minors.
